Journey's Mission

The mission, purpose, reason for being, of Journey Church is...

To lead as many people as possible to encounter God's grace, experience spiritual growth, and engage in service that transforms lives.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25

en·coun·ter (n-kountr) - a casual meeting with a person or thing; The Letter to the Hebrews reminds us to not give up meeting together.  We strive to help people encounter God through relevant worship, biblical teaching and human relationships.  This happens through meaningful, relevant, down to earth worship where people feel God's amazing grace and love.

ex·pe·ri·ence (ik-spîr-e¯-ens) - to participate in personally; undergo; Hebrews 10:25 says, "...let us encourage one another- and all the more..."  We're to encourage one another to undergo a change of heart that leads to Christ-like character.  For the most part the encouraging and growth happens with L.I.F.E. groups which are small groups that help people Live In Faith Everyday.  Within each small group people will study the Bible, pray together, support one another, have fun with each other, reach out to others, and invite others to experience the grace and love of God.

en·gage (en-ga¯j) - carry out or participate in an activity; be involved in;   the 24th verse of Hebrews 10 says,"...let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."  It's not enough to worship God and to grow spiritually unless we serve others with love and good deeds.  Faith without action is dead.  Through L.I.F.E groups people participate in service within the church through ministry teams and then go beyond the church to do outreach events, servant evangelism, and missions projects that share our faith with others so that they too can encounter God's grace.
